In July 2007, for the first time in Bulgaria the best 15 free-runners gathered on a national summer tour of Free Run and Parkour.

The first Free Run Loop Tour of Free Run and Parkour demonstration took place in 12 Bulgarian towns: Pazardjik, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Sliven, Burgas, Varna, Dobrich, Shumen, Russe, Pleven, Vidin and Veliko Tarnovo.
What is Parkour?
Parkour – the most attractive way for movement through city environment – is already gaining popularity in Bulgaria. The “flying” boys, who move jumping over obstacles, besides being much faster than us, they als look much happier while practicing their passion. Parkour originates from the “Metod Naturele” movement (from French: “the natural method” – French discipline “designed” for the French army during the 60-s of the 20th century. The objective was it to move faster than the other armies during the time of war in Vietnam. Then David Belle – son of a “participant” in the French army, brings the sport from the jungle to the city. He is the founder of Parkour. The philosophy of Parkour and Free run excludes the usage of alcohol, drugs and other sedatives.
What makes it an art?
Art is the way in which on gets through, above and under the various obstacles. The sport is oriented towards the development of human abilities. In Parkour there is no competition – there are demonstrations and trainings.
What do the boys, who practice Parkour, say?
We help ourselves in order to evolve in way to be able to move as fast as possible in the environment – both natural and urban.
How many people are there in a team?
Usually 6 to 7 people. This tendency comes from the “Yamakasi” movie where there are 7 yamakasi. Up to now there are more than 80 teams registered in Bulgaria. The speed, with which this movement is developing and gaining popularity, fills the boys with hope that very soon Parkour will turn into a real sensation and you too will be able to become a part of it.
