The Culture to Breathe, 2009

Within the period of one year the Greenwild Foundation & Human Thinks, in cooperation with Sopharma, will be initiating the carrying out of monthly events and will bring up the issue of tobacco smoking. By means of various interactions, open-air art installations, demonstrations, workshops, happenings and debates, different attitudes (pro and con) towards smoking will be presented. The project’s aim is to provoke the public to get aware of the harmful aspects of smoking and to suggest tips and solutions for people who have made up their minds to quit smoking. The events will be designed so as to encourage discussions and debates on topics such as choice-making – to be a smoker or a non-smoker; the harmful effect of smoking on people and in particular on children and grown-ups. The project will also inform on possibilities for undertaking of therapy and treatment to quit smoking. The “The Culture to Breathe” campaign is unique for its approach and interactive character – its concept is to involve smokers themselves in the various events, provoke them to participate actively and give a feedback on their experience.

„SPRING DOESN’T SMOKE – BREATHE BEAUTIFULLY!”
In the spirit of Spring, a team of the Greenwild Foundation, “supplied” with baskets full of fragrant spring flowers, took a walk in the streets of Sofia city. The Greenwild members provoked smokers to give up their unhealthy habit by tearing off their pack of cigarettes and “exchanging” it for a lovely flower. In addition, everyone who supported the idea for life without cigarette smoke, got a sticker with the message “I breathe beautifully”, which one could proudly wear on one’s coat.

Show Your Love to Your Beloved One!
On occasion of the Saint Valentine ’s Day, an exclusive surprise was granted to the ones in love. Every visitor of the exsmoker.bg website was invited to write a love message for a beloved person and to point an address, where his/her sweetheart would receive a stylish bracelet as a gift from the exsmoker.bg website.

„MY CHRISTMAS PROMISE”
The December provocation of the campaign was associated to the tradition of giving a New-Year’s promise in order to complete personal wishes and achieve set aims. “MY CHRISTMAS PROMISE” drew the attention towards the issue of tobacco smoking and the healthy life-style in general. Besides giving one’s “promise”, everyone could “make use” of a humorous advice on how to manage to keep one’s word.
The free Christmas cards were distributed in the city of Sofia by means of the FAME CARDS distribution network.
